Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) participated in the European Medical Travel Conference 2012 in Berlin by highlighting the locality’s goal of emerging as a primary medical tourism hub in the Middle East.
DHCC has been aggressively marketing the UAE as a valuable site for medical tourism. Its participation in the conference was conducted in partnership with the Dubai Health Authority and the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, under an umbrella group known as the Dubai Medical Tourism Group.
DHCC’s Managing Director Dr. Ayesha Abdullah said, “We are committed to showcasing DHCC’s quality healthcare facilities and our world-class business partners at leading medical travel events. We look forward to sharing ideas, investment opportunities and best practices with industry experts. We are confident that DHCC will generate significant interest from the medical and tourism industry experts at these globally recognized events.”
At the conference, Dr. Abdullah held a presentation called, “Medical tourism, the fastest growing industry – with a focus on the UAE.” In the presentation, she emphasized the world-class medical centers at DHCC and acknowledged German healthcare providers for their contribution to the healthcare city’s success.
DHCC is also planning a presence at the Arabian Travel Market 2012, a travel and tourism event in Dubai for Middle East inbound and outbound tourism professionals being held between April 30 and May 3.
Dr. Abdullah said regarding the Arabian Travel Market, “Dubai’s strategic location, excellent infrastructure, hospitality, world-renowned tourist attractions and internationally-accredited healthcare facilities make the emirate a popular tourism hub. Medical tourists select Dubai for its shorter waiting times and the high quality of medical care. Cost and availability of healthcare are also key factors that influence patients’ decisions. We, at Dubai Healthcare City, continuously seek to make innovative, high-quality and affordable healthcare easily accessible to the community at large. We owe our patients a first-class experience.”
