Forum takes place in Sarajevo and will be held on September 7 and 8.
The first “Balkan Health Forum” began on Saturday with the presence of the representatives of the ministries of health and the private sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania , Kosovo, Serbia and Turkey.
Forum takes place in Sarajevo and will be held on September 7 and 8.
“Health tourism includes great potential and we know that all the Balkan countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, have large natural resources, manpower and many other resources that should be used in the future”, said one of the organizers Minet Music.
Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Ranko Covic noted that medical tourism increased from 15 percent to 20 percent in Sarajevo.
“Bosnia has the human, natural and space capacities, and what we lacked were the strategic orientation and complementary programs in the field of tourism and health care, as well as networking and communication”, said Covic, wishing success for the participants.
“The 21st century is starting today on this forum”, said Ayse Turan from the Ministry of Health of Turkey, adding that after this first forum more people from the Balkans, Europe and Asia are expected to seek health services in Turkey.
“You can build a very high-quality hospital with qualified equipment, but the most important thing is that there is a qualified staff who will work in such institutions. Population of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans is young, and we on our part are ready to give all possible, even technical support, so that the health situation here is at better levels”, stresses Turan.
The next forum will be held in February next year in Belgrade.
