The Confederation of Indian Industry, with the support of the state government, will organise the fourth edition of the Kerala Health Tourism (KHT) from October 31 to November 2 at Hotel Le Meridien, Kochi.
KHT was kicked off in 2006 with the aim of promoting the state as a preferred destination in health tourism. “The first three editions of KHT were grand successes with hospitals in Kerala reporting an average increase of about 30-40 per cent in the arrival of medical tourists,” Azad Moopen, chairman, Kerala Health Tourism 2013, told a press conference held here on Friday.
KHT also aims to highlight emerging trends, opportunities and challenges in the Indian health tourism arena. The Confederation of Indian Industry will also introduce ‘MediEquip 2013’, an exhibition of medical equipment in connection with KHT. “In future, Kerala should be promoted as a state which is known for health tourism as well, like it is already known for ayurveda. We are expecting nearly 400 national and international delegates for the conference organised as part of KTH,” said Moopen.
