Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Exhibition opens this week

Azerbaijan’s International Travel and Tourism (AITF) 2015 Exhibition, will take place at the Baku Expo Centre this week from April 2-4, 2015. Held for the 14th time this year, AITF has established itself as the country’s leading travel trade event.

Over 350 companies will exhibit this year from 41 countries, including the Maldives, who will be exhibiting from a national stand for the first time this year.

The tourism boards of Azerbaijan, Argentina, Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, the Maldives, Morocco, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Iran, Hungary, Tunisia, Montenegro and the Dominican Republic will exhibit.

60% of exhibitors are international participants. Among them will be tour operators, national tourism organizations, hotel chains, sanatoriums, holiday resorts, health and spa centers, and sport and eco-friendly tourist facilities. Islamic hotels will also be presented for the first time at the exhibition.

The event’s ‘Medical Tourism’ sector has significantly increased this year. Companies from Germany, Slovakia, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Slovenia, Iran, Hungary and the Czech Republic will promote healthcare services. Newcomers include: Erzurum City Hospital, Anadolu Hospital, Bursa Health Tourism Centre, Bursa Institute of Maturity, Cekirge Hospital of Cardioaretmia, Slovak Healing Spa Turcianske Teplice and the Czech medical Centre European Patient Service and the KRV Medical.

Other exhibition sections include: Real Estate Abroad, HOREX and Luxury Boats and Yachts. Exhibitors will also showcase car rentals, cruises, airlines, sightseeing packages, hotels and educational tourism packages.

At AITF 2015, the European Games Operational Committee will start distribution of their game tickets. The European Games will be held in Baku in June. The first ticket will be presented to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who is expected to attend AITF 2015.

The first two days of the event are reserved for trade visitors only. Interested visitors should register online for a complimentary visitor ticket.
