Health City to attend medical tourism forum

Officials from Health City Cayman Islands will attend the World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Congress in Washington, D.C. this month.

“The networking value of these conferences is exceptional,” said Dr. Chandy Abraham, facility director of Health City Cayman Islands, who is scheduled to highlight the skills and capacities of the new 140-bed private hospital in East End during the Caribbean ministerial meeting on Sept. 20 to 24.

Health City’s marketing director, Shomari Scott is also representing the hospital at the conference, along with patient care relations manager Joan Freedman and digital marketing specialist Aliya Dunstan. “The issue of creating a healthcare destination that provides a high quality service for far less cost has never been more pressing,” Mr. Scott said.

Health City Cayman Islands, which opened in February, ultimately will have 2,000 beds, a dedicated medical research university and an assisted living center. Billed by organizers as the “world’s largest medical tourism event,” the healthcare conference and trade show expects to attract up to 3,000 participants.
