With a 30% increase in exhibit space, the 6th edition of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND, International Exhibition on Hospital, Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, Medical & Rehabilitation Equipment & Supplies, is sold out one month before the start of the event.
This increase confirms the event’s importance for Southeast Asia’s medical and health care industry. About 400 exhibitors from some 20 countries will display their latest technologies from September 12 – 14, 2013 at the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre in Bangkok.
“Since MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND’s start in 2003, the trade fair has taken the lead to drive the medical and health care industry forward by providing regional interaction and networking. Over the years, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND has seen significant growth and participation from the international arena, particularly from Europe and North Asia. We are delighted with the considerable expansion of the trade fair, which strongly reflects the robust market interest in medical and health care in the growing markets of Thailand and Southeast Asia. Through MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 we aim to bring international, regional and local manufacturers and suppliers together to drive the industry further, and to showcase technology and innovation for countries like Thailand while remaining at the forefront of a competitive marketplace,” stated Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia.
MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 will also feature more and new country participations. France will take part in form of a country pavilion for the first time. Seven companies will exhibit within the French Pavilion, jointly organized by the Trade Commission of the French Embassy in Thailand, the Thai Medical Device Technology Industry Association and the ASEAN Federation of Medical Device Industry.
In addition, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 has also attracted a large number of national pavilions and country groups from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
The focus of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 will be equipment for a wide variety of applications, ranging from accident and emergency to laboratory rehabilitation, supplies for ophthalmic, pharmaceutical and orthopedic use as all well as communication and IT equipment. Visitors can expect to see more medical suppliers from Europe, specifically from Germany and Belgium, as well as Asian neighboring countries such as South Korea and Taiwan.
With the Thai government’s goal of transitioning the country’s economy from labor intensive to knowledge-based (with emphasis placed on high-tech and high-value industries), MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2013 will be held at an opportune time. The medical devices and equipment sector is among the top ten focus industries of Thailand’s Board of Investment.
Cost-effective and high-performance solutions will be important issues at the trade fair, presented by exhibitors ranging from manufacturers and processors to suppliers particularly from the medical device and medical technology sector.
