This fall, Greek leading hospitals, incoming tourism offices and hotels will present the country’s medical tourism services in a workshop in Moscow to increase their clientele.
This is the second workshop organized toshowcase Greece as a medical and health tourism destination to the Russian market. The aim is to classify the country among the most desirable destinations for Russians that travel for medical reasons and promote Greek hospitality and healthcare businesses to the specific market.
The 2nd Greek Medical & Health Tourism Workshop will be held by tourism blog Tourism Today in cooperation with the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) and the Russian Association of Insurance Companies.
According to organizers Tourism Today, the contacts made at the first workshop in May proved that Greece is an “unknown health travel destination to the Russians.”
However, at the first workshop, a great interest was expressed from the Russian side. It was agreed that Greece meets the requirements to welcome this category of tourists as the country offers a high level of services and infrastructure in the health and hospitality sectors.
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), medical tourists from Russia amount to some 300,000, with an annual growth rate of 20 percent.
The 2nd Greek Medical & Health Tourism Workshop will take place 30 October 2013 at the Park Hyatt Ararat Hotel in Moscow.
