Bangkok, 6 September 2012:
Health & Wellness tourism is a significant contributor to the economies of many Asian countries, particularly Malaysia, Singapore & Thailand.
With approximately a third of the world’s spa operators located in Asia, the annual industry growth rates are usually in the double digit zone.
The spa and well-being industry is an important component of the tourism industry and an integral part of the culture of many Asian countries, that have practiced traditional therapies in homes and village communities long before entrepreneurs turned into a money making business.
Intelligent Spas, the independent spa industry research company in Singapore, forecast a 16% industry growth rate for the Asia Pacific region in 2011 as the global economy starts to pick up again.
It is only reasonable that the spa and wellness industry will continue to grow, especially as it realises that its future will only be secure, when spas and well-being practices again becomes part of healthy lifestyle and not just seen as a pampering leisure activity of the wealthy.
Aiming to build local operators’ strengths and competitive advantages for the upcoming establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, Thai Spa Association has joined forces with IMPACT Exhibition Management Co Ltd, to host World Spa & Well-being Convention 2012.
The convention will feature a wide-range of business resources for the spa and well-being industries covering spa operators, spa education centers, spa product suppliers, architects & interior designers, spa consultants and many more.
Running together with the trade exhibition is the World Spa & Well-being Congress 2012 that will provide exhibitors and business leaders with a myriad of opportunities to build business connections, network and be inspired by innovative presentations.
The congress will be led by professional speakers, world-renowned gurus and industry players under the theme of ‘Inspiration & Dedication’ with topics such ‘Inspired Potential: How to Think Outside the Box of Convention and Soaring with the Eagles’ and ‘Dedicated Future: ASEAN Spa Standards’
