Poland’s medical firms will be able to draw on a zł.4 million fund to promote Poland abroad as a destination for medical tourism, Rzeczpospolita reported.
On Wednesday, a consortium which organizes a program supporting medical tourism to Poland is expected to announce the names of the first institutions to receive grants. The consortium comprises the European Business Center, Ameds Center and the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.
According to the Polish Association of Medical Tourism, this sector may have been worth zł.800 million last year.
The promotional program could help the market expand by 12-15 percent a year.
“Poland has huge potential. We can easily compete with Turkey, which is the leader in the medical tourism market in Europe,” Magdalena Rutkowska, CEO of Ameds Center, told Rzeczpospolita.
